Welcome to Costa Rica!
Day 1: Arrive to San Jose International Airport Juan Santamaria, Transfer to Arenal, overnight at La Fortuna.
Our exciting adventure and multi-sport tour begins immediately, as we travel from the Juan Santamaria International Airport to the Arenal Hotel. Situated by the Arenal Volcano, our hotel is an excellent location for observing the constantly erupting Arenal Volcano. Weather permitting, we may view one of its pyrotechnic shows. The hotel grounds feature abundant wildlife and a swimming pool for you to relax in.
What to wear: Confortable clothes. Transfer duration: From San Jose to La Fortuna 3 hours aprox. Activity level: Easy.
Day 2: White Water Rafting Pacuare River (one day tour). Overnight at Arenal (BL)After breakfast we head to the Rio Pacuare for a wonderful Class III-IV White Water Rafting trip. After a brief introduction to paddling, we launch our rafts down the mighty Pacuare River. We traverse eight miles of remote and scenic waters that course through a wilderness of dense vegetation that completely covers the riverbank. The numerous rapids are interspersed with stretches of calm, tranquil water providing an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding tropical beauty. This is one of the best adventure tours in Costa Rica.
What to wear: Shorts or swimsuit and dry set of clothes, shorts & T-shirt to change into, water camera, sun block. Transfer duration: From La Fortuna to Rafting Base 2,5 hours aprox. Activity level: Moderate.
Day 3: Arenal Volcano Hike tour and Baldi Hot Springs (or Tabacon Hot Springs). Overnight at Arenal (BD)Arenal is one of the world's most active volcanoes, thundering and blowing since 1968. Arenal is located in the Tilaran Mountains and dominates the background of today's tour. We explore its National Park, and hike its trails through the forest to a safe viewing observatory from which you may see the majestic volcano's fireworks.

In the afternoon, we will transfer to our Hotel in the Monteverde area. The hotel offers views of the slopes of the Tilaran Mountains and Gulf of Nicoya. It is not uncommon to see humming birds, monkeys and quetzals from the hotel's balconies! At night, just after the Arenal Volcano Hike, we will visit the wonderful hot springs in the area.
What to wear: Hiking boots, confortable clothes, shorts & T-shirt to change into, sun block, repellent, digital camera. Transfer duration: All activities in the area. Activity level: Moderate.
Day 4: Van-Boat-Van tour to Monteverde. Canopy Tour. Overnight at Monteverde (B)Our tour consists of various platforms at canopy height and a rappel set in the heart of the cloud forest reserve. This is the site of the first ever Original Canopy Tour. We begin with a hike through the cloud forest, and then we climb a rope ladder through the middle of a hug strangler fig. Once we reach the forest canopy, we slide from platform to platform enjoying splendid views of the multi-layered canopy. Assisted by expert guides, we then rappel back to the forest floor.
The platforms vary in height from 20 meters to 33 meters above the ground. In the afternoon we will enjoy a hike through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The reserve is world famous for the huge variety of life forms it supports. An elaborate system of trails winds through the park inviting travelers to visit. The reserve is divided into six life zones, hosting a total of over 2,500 species of plants, 10 species of mammals (including the rare Jaguar),120 species of reptiles and amphibians including the endemic Golden Toad (sapo dorado), 490 species of butterflies, including the Blue Morpho and about 400 species of birds including the resplendent Quetzal. Overnight in Monteverde.
What to wear: Shorts or swimsuit and dry set of clothes, shorts & T-shirt to change into. Transfer duration: From La Fortuna to Monteverde 3 hours aprox. Activity level: Easy.
Day 5: Transfer to Manuel Antonio. Overnight at Manuel Antonio (B). Manuel Antonio is one of the best beaches in the country. It is also a National Park where you will enjoy the natural wonders of the area. After breakfast we will transfer to Manuel Antonio, and you will have free time to enjoy the beach and the sun.
What to wear: Shorts or swimsuit and dry set of clothes, shorts & T-shirt to change into. Transfer duration: From Monteverde to Manuel Antonio 4.5 hours aprox. Activity level: Easy.
Day 6: Mangrove (or sea) Kayak Tour. Free afternoon. Overnight at Manuel Antonio (B)After a great breakfast and depending on the tides, you will head towards the kayak location. It can be mangrove kayaking or sea kayaking, depending on your strengths. This is a perfect tour to see wild animals.
What to wear: Shorts or swimsuit and dry set of clothes, shorts & T-shirt to change into. Transfer duration: All activities in the area Activity level: Moderate.
Day 7: Transfer to San José. Overnight at San Jose (B) San Jose doesn't boast of beauty, it is actually a chaotic city with busy streets dirty busses and loud markets. However it does hide some important historical monuments, impressive landmarks and well stocked souvenir markets. Use the day in the city visiting these important places and learning about their history and importance to the Costa Rican community, also, in San Jose you could buy souvenirs and send your "wish you were here!" post cards.
What to wear: Shorts or swimsuit and dry set of clothes, shorts & T-shirt to change into. Transfer duration: From Manuel Antonio to San Jose 3.5 hours aprox. Activity level: Easy.
Day 8: Transfer Out to the airport (B). End of your adventure in Costa Rica. Transfer to San Jose. After a hearty breakfast, we will transfer you to the Juan Santamaria International Airport.
What to wear: Confortable clothes. Transfer duration: From San Jose to International Airport 30 minutes aprox. Activity level: Easy. Important Note: Exit tax is not included on the package price and it is $26 per person.
